What are Price Drop Promo Push Notifications & Emails?
When you drop the price of your vehicle by a certain percentage, we'll send eligible Trade Me Members who have watchlisted your vehicle a notification either via email or push notification to let them know. Getting in front of engaged buyers has never been easier.
How does this work?
Depending on the price range of your vehicle, decreasing the vehicle price by a certain percentage will trigger an email or push notification and show up on your listing. We’ll promote the reduced price, letting watchlisters know that the vehicle price has been discounted.
The discount percentage is dependent on the vehicle's asking price. These are listed below:*
How to trigger a price drop notification
In order to trigger a price drop notification, you must follow these steps in DealerBase.
- Leave the original 'Retail Price' of the listing as-is.
- Enter the new price of the listing in the 'Sale Price' section.
Please note that this process may change depending on your VMS provider. Please check with them if you have any questions.

Will all watchlisters get an email or push notification?
The most effective way to promote vehicle discounts is to ensure that we do not overwhelm potential buyers with multiple emails per day. Because of this, customers that have watchlisted your vehicle will only receive the price drop notification if:
- Your vehicle is the only discounted vehicle on that day or;
- Your vehicle is discounted by the highest amount compared to other vehicles on a member's watchlist;
- Your vehicle price change meets the above requirements.
