How third-party terms and conditions work on Trade Me
We usually don't enforce rules set by other companies, unless buyers are at risk.
11 December 2024We usually don't enforce rules set by other companies (third-party terms and conditions), unless buyers are at risk.
When you join and use Trade Me, you agree to our Terms and Conditions (T&C). These rules help keep Trade Me safe and trustworthy, and we follow them closely.
Selling items with a third party T&C on Trade Me
Sometimes, sellers list items that have their own separate rules (third-party T&Cs). These rules are between the seller and the other company, not Trade Me.
We generally don't enforce these outside rules.
For example, a concert ticket might say it can't be resold. Since Trade Me isn't involved in the agreement between the ticket seller and the buyer, we won't enforce that rule.
When we’ll step in
We will remove listings that break the rules and could cause problems for buyers. These listings often include:
- Airline and ferry tickets (These are often canceled by the company that issued them.)
- Concert tickets that the promoter (the event organizer) has canceled.
We may remove other listings that breach third party T&C at our discretion.
