Life in Bucklands Beach
With epic ocean views, beautiful beaches and plenty of retail opportunities, there’s good reason to get excited about Bucklands Beach. Here are some of the suburbs best features and activities:
- Musick Point: at the tip of the Bucklands Beach peninsula, you’ll find Musick Point. From here, you have expansive views of the Hauraki Gulf, with the city to the west, and the islands to the north and west. On the right night, you can watch the sun setting behind Rangitoto Island.
- The beaches: Bucklands Beach residents have a number of options when it comes to beaches. Perhaps the most obvious choices are Eastern Beach and Little Bucklands Beach. From the bottom of the Little Bucklands, you can take a popular board walk down to Half Moon Bay.
- Shopping: if you’re a fan of retail therapy, there’s no shortage of options around Bucklands Beach, with Botany Town Centre and Pakuranga shopping centre on the doorstep.
Getting around
It’s well acknowledged that commuting in Auckland around peak times can be slow, and Bucklands Beach is no exception to this. During rush hour, the usual half hour drive into the CBD can as much as double.
While Bucklands Beach doesn’t have a train station, there’s a scenic alternative to driving in the form of a ferry from neighbouring Half Moon Bay. This service can deliver passengers to Auckland City Ferry Terminal in roughly 40 minutes.
